INGREDIENTS:
- 4 tbsp Dutch Farms Unsalted Butter
- 2-3 white onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- French baguette, sliced
- Olive oil for brushing (approx. 2-3 tbsp)
- 1 cup Dutch Farms Shredded Swiss Cheese
- Fresh thyme for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
- Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Add sliced onions and mix to coat them in butter.
- Caramelize the onions by cooking them on low-medium heat for approximately 1 hour.
- While the onions are cooking, slice the baguette and arrange on a sheet pan. Brush with olive oil and bake at 400°F for 5-7 minutes.
- When the onions have finished caramelizing, mix in the salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Top each crostini with a tablespoon of caramelized onions and a generous topping of shredded Swiss cheese.
- Place back in the oven and broil on low for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and top with fresh thyme. Serve and enjoy!
